Solutions for Bottling Lines - March 2014

A local brewery and a cola bottling facility were having difficulties with pitting corrosion on their bottling line filler tables. The original pitting was caused by the bottles breaking and the glass cutting into the tables and the product. The splashing cola and beer only added to the problem. The facility’s acid cleaning process caused yet more pitting allowing for bacteria to grow. The local Health Department wasn’t at all thrilled with this development.

The brewery had a contractor come in once a year and spend 2 weeks grit-blasting and coating this equipment with a cheap epoxy. Every year this job was done at tremendous cost. In 2008 we were invited in to have a look and give another option.

Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) was the product we decided would work best in this application so during the 2 week Christmas shutdown that year we went in, grit blasted all the surfaces and applied the Belzona coating according to manufacturers’ specifications.

And here we are in 2014 and that bottling line is performing perfectly. The customer is so happy with the longevity of this application that they’ve had us do the other 5 bottling lines at their facility too.

We have coating solutions for anything that is causing corrosion problems on your can or bottle filler lines.

How can we help you repair, protect and improve your component equipment?
